Robby Soave said "it's very tempting to be celebratory" about the latest hostage release including a dual-national four-year-old American girl but we "must be clear eyed about what Hamas has done." He said that Hamas is an untrustworthy terrorist organization at fault for “kick[ing] off this whole war” and is poised to potentially benefit from cease-fires. He also implored journalists to “please … just hold on. Just wait a couple hours” before speculating about unsubstantiated claims like several outlets did after the Rainbow Bridge car crash on November 22. Also, he said that while he “disagree[s] with a lot of Haaretz’s coverage of the ongoing [Israel-Hamas] conflict,” he thinks Benjamin Netanyahu’s Communications Minister went too far in threatening financial penalties over the paper’s criticism of the war effort.

Laura Fink said "Hamas from day one … has sought to manipulate emotions” by such means as stalling planned hostage releases for hours, like they did on November 25, calling the conflict a “propaganda war for Hamas." She said about the misleading speculation of terrorism in the early coverage of November 22nd’s Rainbow Bridge car crash that “the urgency and desire for information is almost proportional to the lack of vetting.” She also said that the Netanyahu administration threatening Haaretz over its critical war coverage “is a political move, and it’s just wrong.”

Ameshia Cross said the media’s criticism of Trump this election cycle is different than his previous presidential campaigns because “many once employed under Trump are now speaking out against him … now he has a record”. She also said that Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson, who was relatively unknown prior to becoming Speaker, should have expected the media to scrutinize his conservative social views. “It’s the media’s job to investigate … to put a spotlight on it.”

Cassie Smedile said the media’s attacks on Trump, such as labeling him a fascist and authoritarian, will ultimately help him. “When Donald Trump makes perceived gaffes or when he says these phrases that the media then go ballistics about, his poll numbers go up.” She also said the media is maligning Mike Johnson’s socially conservative views by quickly labeling him an “extremist” who should “concern you.”

Alex Hogan said that despite terrorist group Hamas releasing some of its hostages to the Israeli Defense Forces, it doesn’t mitigate the horrific nature of the kidnappings. She also said Hamas targeted children, including a four-year-old American girl “whose parents tried to flee with her and were killed” before she was kidnapped by the terrorists.
